Could you tell us about your company's products/solutions that enhance patient safety? 

Kiwi Medical Supplies is one of the leading distributors in the UAE for medical consumables and equipment. The company started under the umbrella of Pride Trading (Group) companies, and Kiwi Medical grew many folds in the last 10 years to expand its reach from Al Ain to all seven emirates, providing products to all major hospitals in the UAE. Kiwi Medical has products for CSSD, Endoscopy, Infection Prevention, Gastroenterology and Operation Theatre, for which it represents several international manufacturers. 

As we celebrate our 10th year of patient care, we are steadfast in our mission to provide quality products with uninterrupted supply and timely service. Kiwi Medical provides an excellent solution for Surgical Asset management with Instrutrack. The tracking system helps to digitalise the conventional manual instrument tracking, minimising documentation error and improving patient safety. Kiwi Medical also represents Dr. Schumacher for its extensive and well-known infection prevention products.

The 2022 event sees a return to the traditional in person-format. What are you looking forward to the most from in-person interactions at this year's show?

It's a great pleasure to be part of Patient Safety 2022 and to have an in-person event format for this year. 

In my opinion, this year will prove the best exhibition with the end of the pandemic in sight. It will provide an excellent opportunity for all participants to meet, greet and exchange ideas on growing developments and technologies. In addition, we look forward to showcasing our latest innovative products and learning from the experts on the best practices forced by the pandemic. 

What are you showcasing at Patient Safety this year?

Kiwi Medical Supplies provides a 360 degrees solution for the Central Sterile Service Department (CSSD), including products, solutions, equipment, and consultancy. This year, along with our innovative products, we are also focusing on introducing solutions such as the Surgical Asset Tracking System and Repair Services and the Outsourcing concept. 

At Kiwi Medical Supplies, over the course of several years, we have acquired in-depth knowledge of the subject of CSSD. As a result, we can now provide solutions to hospitals that help to improve efficiency, which ultimately translates to superior patient care. 

In the product section, we showcase the Infection prevention range from Dr. Schumacher, Instant BI's from Terragene, and a two-in-one cleaner and disinfectant solution from Borer Chemie.

Nearly three years on from the start of the pandemic, how has Patient Safety changed?

The pandemic changed many priorities for various industries. For example, in pre-pandemic times, healthcare was under-recognised. The pandemic changed that, as everyone realised the importance of the healthcare sector.

Additionally, healthcare workers were always hidden heroes, but post-pandemic, they are getting the respect they deserve. Lastly, the pandemic highlighted the importance of digitalisation in patient safety and pushed us to accelerate the implementation of new technologies for patient care. 

Could you shed light on any future plans?

Our focus is to expand our range of products and keep improving our services so that we can serve our ultimate goal of caring for the patient. We also aim to provide innovative solutions to the hospital to achieve its patient care goals efficiently.
