Kettaneh to introduce new products and solutions to UAE

He worked in Manufacturing, Construction, Technology, and Strategy consulting. He is currently the CEO of F.A. Kettaneh S.A. overseeing all the businesses of the Group in the Middle East; from Automotive to Medical to Aesthetic to Energy to Automation and to Real Estate. Previously Emile was the President of Vicwest a Manufacturing company in North America, and before, the CEO of iSTARK, a multinational software company based in Toronto.

Could you tell us about your company’s products or solutions that enhance patient safety?

Kettaneh celebrated its 100th anniversary this year in Lebanon, where our headquarters are based. We also have offices in the UAE, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

We have decided to expand our expertise in the healthcare field, especially in sterilisation consumables. The UAE was our first option since it is well known as an innovation hub in the region.

In plain and simple terms, patient safety is how hospitals facilities safeguard their patients. Unfortunately, hospital-acquired infections may occur due to contaminated tools, surfaces, or surgical procedures.

Our aim is to implement new sterilisation technologies and provide safer systems so that we may eliminate all forms of microbial life and put an end to nosocomial infections.

We continue to collaborate with trusted suppliers from Europe and the USA that have been working closely with AAMI [Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation] and EN/ISO, so we can meet the standards required for good practices regarding patient safety.

The 2022 event sees a return to the traditional in-person format. What are you looking forward to the most from in-person interactions at this year’s show?

Businesses are built on relationships. Even though technology had its benefits during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are excited to meet our clients face-to-face and maintain some form of human interaction, which can build trust and deepen connections.

What are you showcasing at Patient Safety this year?

We will be displaying our sterilisation consumables product range that consists of wrapping materials, sterilisation reels, monitoring products for both steam and H2O2, and medical detergents.

Nearly three years on from the start of the pandemic, how has patient safety changed?

The healthcare community has come together to share insight into approaches used to prevent and reduce nosocomial infections and the spread of COVID-19, and to ensure that patients and healthcare workers are kept safe during the delivery of care.

The main priority has been to ensure that healthcare providers and patients are both safe. New regulations regarding PPE wear and hand hygiene have helped a lot in reducing disease transmission.

Could you shed light on any future plans?

Over the years, Kettaneh has acquired broad expertise and know-how in a large area of medical products and equipment.

Going forward, our goal is to transfer this strength to the UAE through gradually introducing new products and solutions that will help take the nation to the next level of patient safety and best-in-class service.

Anything else you would like to add?

At Kettaneh, we believe that the UAE is already at a world class level in healthcare and medical infrastructure. We are proud to contribute to this.
